Good value given the very strong top rail. Used on another home for over 5 years and note the new rail securing hardware has improved. One pack had 2 bad vertical pieces but H/D replaced that pack immediately. I was able to join a 2 foot extension section beyond the standard 8 foot section without a support by use of a painted Pressure Treated 2X4 along the bottom and a round piece of wood between the top rail sections. Worked great.

Very attractive too - a refreshing change from the pressure treated lumber construction of the original railing which had to be routinely sanded and painted and was also beginning to rot in several areas.

Stair rails are trickier to install and are much easier if you have someone to hold one end.Be sure to plumb the balusters before making your cuts on the top and bottom rails.Veranda traditional white rails are probably the best bang for the buck on the market. They work great, are sturdy and look fantastic.

This product is quite good and installs easily. Here are a few tips:If you must cut the rails, be sure the cuts are not too close to the balusters, otherwise the balusters can interfere with the brackets.

We bought the first section at the store to see how it was. Luckily since two spindles were mangled, after we cut to size we didn’t need them. It looked good and we ordered five more and the brackets on line. The brackets went to a store in South Philly so we called the 800#, they said call the store. We asked the store if they can mail them to my house because we live nowhere near the store. They said no and suggested we cancel and reorder. The sections did come to the house but the notched spindle ends were only on two pieces and it was very difficult to assemble that way because they keep falling out with no notch to hold the middle ones in. On the directions they look to all have the notch.

This kit was easy to assemble. It was a few inches longer than I needed, and I had no issues cutting it with a hack saw and miter box. The only issues I had were attaching to the post kit, but that is in a different review. Only tip I can suggest it to following the mounting instructions and pre-drill a hole where required. I did that and had no issues with cracking or splitting.

I used about 9 of these to upgrade the handrail on my dock. I think it looks nice and it was pretty easy to work with. The top rail piece is thick walled and quite sturdy. The bottom rail is just PVC with a thin wall but due to the shape and size, it is still fairly stiff. Assembling the balusters into the rails isn't exactly fun but it isn't too hard either. They just slip in but there are lots of pieces to manage. The connectors (sold separately) have a metal piece, I think it's aluminum, for the top rail. I wanted that for confidence in the connection longer term. I had no quality issues with the 8 foot kits but I did with the 6 foot. I bought 5 and the holes in both rails were not consistent with the balusters. I hope they fixed that now. But no real issues with the 8 foot sets. Both rails are easy to cut with normal woodworking tools - I used a compound miter saw. But a jigsaw or handsaw would work.
