The
CFV-50c Digital Back
from
Hasselblad
offers a high resolution CMOS sensor compatible with most Hasselblad V system cameras, even models that date back to the 1950's. Featuring a 50MP 43.8 x 32.9 mm CMOS sensor that produces lossless compressed RAW 3FR files of approximately 65MB and 8-bit TIFF files of 154MB, the CFV-50c provides simple, cable-free compatibility with V-system cameras. CMOS technology enables a broad ISO sensitivity range of 100-6400 and 1.5 captures per second. Single shot drive is supported and the longest exposure time is 12 minutes.
A 3.0" TFT LCD monitor provides bright and color-accurate playback and images can be saved to either a Compact Flash memory card or to a tethered computer via FireWire 800. Simple controls and an intuitive menu makes the back easy to navigate and the proprietary Phocus software download is included with the digital back. File management applications such as DAC lens correction, Moire Removal Technology and Natural Color Solution control distortion and provide an "out-of-the-box" color profile system. Hasselblad 3FR files can also be opened with some limitations in Adobe Photoshop and Aperture, for example.
To complement its compatibility with the classic V system, the CFV-50c back features a stylish retro build and textured surface reminiscent of film magazines, however its state-of-the-art CMOS sensor converts virtually all V system cameras into high performance digital cameras.
50MP CMOS Sensor
The CFV-50c houses the first medium format CMOS sensor to be placed in a medium format back and provides 50MP resolution, 16 bit color, ISO sensitivity up to 6400, 1.5 captures/second and long exposures up to 12 minutes with low noise.
V System Camera Compatibility
The CFV-50c Digital Back enables compatibility with virtually all Hasselblad V-system cameras without the need for cable connections. Only the 2000 FC/FCM, 2003 FCW, 201 F, 203 FE, 205 TCC/FCC, ArcBody and FlexBody models require a flash input cable. In addition the CFV-50c is compatible with large format and view cameras with a V System adapter and required flash input cable.
Hasselblad 555ELD, 500EL/ELM, and 500/553 ELX cameras require the optional Battery Adapter (no. 3054668) for untethered shooting. The ArcBody camera may also require this optional adapter when working in certain conditions.
LCD Monitor
A 3.0" TFT LCD monitor provides bright, color-accurate image playback.
Hasselblad Natural Color Solution
Color management solutions often impose limitations on digital photographers because of the forced choice of a specific color profile to suit the job: capturing various skin tones, metals, fabrics, flowers etc. To combat this, Hasselblad developed a new color profile included in its proprietary Phocus software that produces outstanding, reliable out-of-the-box colors with skin tones, special product gradations, and other difficult colors reproduced effectively. It removes both the need for experimenting with different color profiles to obtain optimal colors and the need for selective color corrections.
Moiré Removal Technology
Moiré Removal Technology in Phocus software is automatically applied directly on the raw data, leaving image quality intact and eliminating the need to carry out special masking selections or other manual procedures, saving hours of tedious post-production work.
Flexible Workflow
For maximum flexibility Hasselblad 3FR image files carry a full set of metadata, including capture conditions, keywords and copyright, facilitating work with image asset management solutions. Even though Phocus or Lightroom are the most comprehensive choices, Hasselblad 3FR files can also be opened directly with some limitations in Adobe Photoshop (CS4 or later) or in Apple Aperture on Mac OS X if preferred.
V-System Lens DAC Correction
Phocus software includes DAC lens correction for most of the V-system lenses from Carl Zeiss. DAC will correct for distortion, lateral chromatic aberration and vignetting in the same way as is currently performed with H-system lenses.
Phocus Supported Lenses
