pH strip is a piece of paper containing multiple indicator chemicals that change color depending on the pH – the acidity or alkalinity – of a liquid. They are an inexpensive and relatively accurate way of measuring the pH of any liquid including water, urine, saliva, sweat, beverage, tea, juice, detergent, skincare product, etc.
Package includes 2 packs of 80 pH strips, 2 borosilicate(Pyrex) glass rod applicators, and two 0.2ml droppers.
Each strip is made of premium grade litmus paper intended for universal application.
Great for monitoring your body system pH level, kid's school project, home DIY skincare product/cosmetics, soap making, science experiments, fish tank, etc.
Instruction:
1. Clean and dry your hands. You can also wear lab glove.
2. Tear off one strip and place it on a dry clean surface like glass, plastic, pottery saucer, etc. Or hold it with your hand.
3. Transfer a drop of liquid to the strip with the glass rod applicator or the plastic dropper. The color will change in 0.5 second.
4. Immediately match the color of the strip against the standard pH scale color chart within 15 seconds to obtain the pH reading.
5. Clean, dry the glass rod/the dropper for the next use. Store the strips in a cool, dry place away from sunlight/moisture.
Note:
Do not dip the pH test strip into the solution to be tested. The color-changing indicator chemicals will dissolve into the solution and result in inaccurate reading as well as contamination.
Best time to test saliva: First thing in the morning before you eat or drink anything or 2 hours after meal and wash your mouth with water.
